Social Media Logo & Profile Picture Sizes (2026)

Profile and cover dimensions for Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and WhatsApp — plus tips so nothing gets cropped.

Profile picture (avatar) per platform

Instagram 320×320, Facebook 720×720, X/Twitter 400×400, LinkedIn 400×400, YouTube 800×800, TikTok 200×200, and WhatsApp Business 640×640. All display as circles, so keep important elements centered.

Upload the largest size available — platforms downscale cleanly, but enlarging a small image makes it blurry.

Cover / header sizes

Facebook 1640×624, X/Twitter 1500×500, LinkedIn 1584×396, YouTube 2560×1440. YouTube is trickiest: only the central ~1546×423 safe area shows on every device — put your logo and text there.

Always make a version designed per platform; one image stretched to every ratio gets cropped somewhere.

Respect the 'safe area'

Leave clear space around the logo. In stories and reels (1080×1920), keep ~250 pixels clear at the top and bottom for the app's interface buttons.

For circular avatars, assume the corners will be cut — never put text there.

Use the right format and background

Use a transparent PNG for avatars so they sit on any color. For covers, a high-quality JPG/PNG is fine. Don't enlarge small images.
